Building Futures Programme Construction Training

Summary: The Wates Group is one of the largest privately-owned construction, development and property services companies in the UK.

For Jobseekers aged 19+ with no current Construction Qualifications.

The Building Futures Training Programme will give participants relevant construction training.  There will be hands-on trade tasters, industry qualification, site visits and employability training delivered by a network of expert providers throughout the country..

Participants can gain the BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling and a free test to secure a five-year Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card. Both of these allow participants to work on construction sites.

Employability Training will cover job interview training, CV writing and classroom exercises designed to boost confidence, self-esteem and employment prospects.  There will be a guaranteed job interview for individuals who complete the programme.

The training programmes are funded by Ixion and Wates Group and all participants will receive a set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) clothing that they can keep.
