CareTech Foundation has a number of partnerships and initiatives in place to support care leavers. These include:
- Partnership Grant programmes with reputable charitable partners who offer employability training and mentoring support (Beyond Your Limits, EY Foundation) to care leavers and positive pathways planning through a new digital resource (‘Journey’, Barnardo’s).
- Mental Health and wellbeing support for care leavers who have become homeless through our partnership with Depaul UK.
- The Foundation’s Care Leavers Bursary Grant is the first grant of its kind in the UK offered by a care-focussed charity which includes multi-year support for the individual care leaver and work placement opportunities for the duration of their undergraduate degree.
- Mentoring opportunities for care leavers to mentor and guide those younger than them. We have many opportunities that will support care leavers to develop essential leadership skills by taking part in this knowledge-sharing.
