The Care Leavers Internship Scheme provides an opportunity to work in exciting roles across government. The roles are initially a 12-month fixed term appointment which can lead to permanency.
The internships can provide a launchpad into a successful working life and career and will help you to develop skills and experience for future roles anywhere in the world of work.
You will be paid a competitive salary for your grade which is the same as other employees in the the department you are allocated to.
You will also be entitled to all other benefits applicable across the Civil Service.
Eligibility:
You must be eligible for the leaving care package.
To apply you will be aged between 18 – 30, as of 31/12/2022.
You need to satisfy the Civil Service nationality requirements (see below link);
No qualifications or previous work experience is necessary, but applicants must be able to give examples to demonstrate the criteria in the job advert of the role.

We are holding 2 information sessions for all care leavers who are interested in applying for the scheme to attend.
The sessions are designed for care leavers to learn more about the civil service and to decide if the Care Leavers Internship Scheme is right for you.
