NCG Overarching Covenant Commitment
- NCG advocates for all colleges within its Group to commit to reviewing their provision for care leavers and commit to signing the Care Leaver Covenant.
- The Care Leaver covenant is seeking to work with colleges on a number of levels: through student-lifecycles, to supporting access to employment opportunities and also through the community aspects of the institution. NCG will work directly with colleagues to establish contact with the Care Leaver Covenant and form a working group to respond in ways which work for the local care leaver population as well as the “whole institution”.
- The Care Leaver Covenant is brokering opportunities for care leavers across all sectors of society, particularly in terms of work experience, apprenticeships, internships and employment. NCG commits that all colleges will develop a partnership approach with the Covenant to broaden opportunities for care leaver and care experienced students. Through working with the Covenant, more targeted prospects could be identified for care leaver students within the Group.
