NHS Sussex have committed to support those with care experience within our organisation and to embed a culture where those with care experience are part of the system leadership that influences the future health care of children and young people in care.
NHS Sussex employed two care leavers under kickstart and supported them into local roles in NHS provider organisations. There is an ambition to develop this into an ongoing process.
NHS Sussex has funded a pilot for pre-payment prescription certificates for care leavers who are not already eligible for this, this is to support care leavers in employment.
