The West Midlands is a busy, urban area made up of 2.8 million people, offering a diverse range of communities to protect and support. We are looking to attract applicants with a real passion for people and communities, especially those who have lived experience of the care system.
You will have a desire to work alongside our local communities to build relationships and make a difference to the lives of people in the West Midlands. Police Officers and Police Support Staff make up the West Midlands Police family and play a vital role in keeping our local communities safe, whilst providing the best service to the public.
We offer exciting and rewarding roles, with endless opportunities across various teams, from working directly with victims of crime to supporting investigations and developing intelligence. The opportunities really are endless.
Offer to Care Leavers
In preparation for embarking on a career within policing, West Midlands Police are offering to provide care leaver applicants with access to an online Workshop, explaining in detail what they can expect as part of the recruitment process. This will include a breakdown of the stages involved, as well as the opportunity to ask serving officers and staff questions about their own experiences working for the organisation.
We will also be offering care leaver applicants the opportunity to access one-to-one support sessions with a member of the Recruitment Team, to help them prepare and perfect their own work / home based examples for any assessment centre / interview process. Each applicant will have at least two of these sessions upon request.
Paid employment opportunities will be available for applicants from the age of 18 years old. If under the age of 18, then volunteering opportunities are available within our various Cadet units.
