The Care Experienced Football Family

In addition to the Covenant’s large signatory network there is a Covenant Football Family that supports care experienced young people across England.

Care Leavers Wanted

Over the past two years a growing group of Club Community Organisations (CCOs) have worked with the Covenant to explore how they can support young care experienced people in their local area.

The Care Experienced Football Family is for our CCO partners who are committed to providing a designated support contact for any care leaver who wants to access their provision.

This provision can include employability support, free football and fitness sessions, educational opportunities and mentoring support.

You can see those who have signed the Football Family pledge on the map below and full details of the pledge at the bottom of the page.

Please do get in touch with our Football Family partners to see how they might be able to support you!

Care Experienced Football Family Pledge

We, as an organisation, are committed to supporting care experienced young people in our local community.

We recognise that care experienced young people face unique challenges in the transition from care to independence and that we as an organisation have an important role to play in forming a community of support around these young people.

We therefore commit to supporting care experienced young people to access any appropriate provision or opportunities that our CCO offers.

In order to make this provision as accessible as possible we have a specific point of contact (SPOC) that care experienced young people or their support workers can use to enquire about opportunities, support or provision.

In order for as many care experienced young people as possible to be able to identify the support that we and others offer, we consent to our commitment to care experienced young people and the details of our SPOC being advertised via the Care Leaver Covenant.
