QTS are developing their first UK Data Centre in Cambois, Northumberland, this will be a £10bn investment to build a data centre campus with 10 data centre buildings.  QTS are working in collaboration with Northumberland County Council to develop social value commitments to support local people to access the training and employment opportunities that will be created through this significant digital infrastructure project. As part of this commitment, we want to support the care of experienced young people, helping them to secure employment, apprenticeship, placements and employability support through QTS, our General Contractors and their supply chain partners.  We are working in collaboration with NCC Corporate Parenting team Jane Walker to align with their strategy, initiatives and local plans to support local care experienced young people in Northumberland.

Our Offer

To support 10 Care Experienced young people through one or more of the following activities/initiatives:

Apprenticeships – Provide access to any apprenticeship opportunities through QTS, General Contractors and supply chain ad vendor partners working on the Cambois Data centre Campus project

Work placements including internships – to provide access to internships and paid/unpaid work placements including T Levels and Industry year placements with QTS, General Contractors, Supply Chain or Vendor partners.

Employability Support – to provide access to QTS, General Contractors, Supply Chain and vendor partners representatives to provide employability support such as CV preparation, interview preparation, QTS/Supply Chain careers insights etc.

Pre Employment programmes – to share opportunities for any pre-employment training programmes for the Cambois Data Centre Campus for both the construction and operational phases with QTS, General Contractors, Supply Chain or Vendor partners.

Mentoring – provide mentoring throughout the recruitment process for any care experienced young people applying for positions at QTS or with our General Contractors/Supply Chain partners

Direct Employment – To share any direct employment opportunities with QTS, General Contractors, Supply Chain and Vendor partners through Care Leaver Covenant website and project website
