About the role in Stoke as a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You’ll help the people we support – often with restricted mobility – to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request.

You’ll help them with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing – this will mean you’ll understand the importance of privacy and dignity – so important to everyone. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with the people we support, and as a group. And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

This opportunity isp art time – up to 30 hours a week with Pay Rates – £12.50 weekdays, £12.80 weekend days and £13.30 nights working on alternate weekends as part of rota

Once you apply, a dedicated Relationship Officer (RO) will get in touch with you. They will arrange a telephone interview, carry out some initial verbal checks, and let you know if you will be progressing to the second interview or provide feedback if you are not successful.

If you are invited to the second stage, the RO will guide you through what to expect, explain the documents you’ll need to provide, and support you through the process. If you are successful, they will also help with the pre-employment checks before introducing you to the Service Manager, who will then take over your journey into joining Radis Community Care.

Taking Up This Offer

All care leavers or their supporters should access Radis vacancies via the mycovenant.org.uk web page. (We would encourage all applications to come via this route to enable correct tracking and follow-up specific to the agreement between Radis Community Care and Care Leaver Covenant).

Then the dedicated RO will liaise with the care leaver – conducting the telephone interview – some initial verbal checks – providing an outcome decision whether the care leaver will successfully progress to 2nd interview or feedback if unsuccessful – helping the care leaver understand the 2nd interview process – documents that they are required to provide and ultimately, if successful, completing some pre-employment checks and handing over to the relevant Service Manager to take over the process of joining Radis Community Care.
