At the hub, you will find:

- The chance to develop practical skills through outreach work and events.
- One-to-one mentoring and support from our founding member, who also has care experience.
- You can attend as a participant or get involved as a volunteer, gaining valuable experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds, including those for whom English is a second language.

Welcome to First Person Project – The People’s Mental Health Service
At First Person Project, we believe in the power of community and connection to nurture mental health and well-being. Our services are built around the idea that wellness isn’t just about individual support – it’s about people coming together, sharing their experiences, and supporting one another.

We are a not-for-profit social enterprise with a simple, but powerful mission: to create a more connected, healthy, and resilient community. We offer person-centred mental health services that are accessible, free of barriers, and inclusive for all. Our team includes mental health professionals with lived experience, meaning we understand firsthand the challenges many young people face.
At First Person Project, we focus on building long-term wellness, using strength-based approaches that encourage proactive mental health management. We are here to walk with you, not just through the tough times, but as you take steps towards lasting mental well-being.
What We Offer – Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Support
FundaMENTALLY Healthy Project: A 7-session mental health and suicide prevention programme, designed to help young people understand their mental health, build resilience, and take control of their well-being. Available for both group and individual sessions.
Drop-in Community Sessions: Free, open-access sessions where you can learn coping strategies, share experiences, and connect with others. No sign-ups required – just come along when you need support.
One-on-One Support: We offer personal, tailored mental health support to help you manage your mental wellness.
Group Workshops & Events: Interactive sessions designed to promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and build connections with others who understand what you’re going through.
Additional Resources

Over the past 50 years, Wills Bros have steadily and sustainably grown as a leading Civil Engineering Main Contractor with established operations in UK and Ireland and with the capability to deliver ad-hoc services in mainland Europe on a client-by-client basis.
We are experts in the design, construction, and delivery of complex civil engineering projects, with expertise in road and bridge construction, street works, water, sewerage and utilities, flood prevention, marine works, land reclamation, earthworks, wind farms, and enabling works for commercial and industrial clients, as well as significant expertise of data centres, pharmaceuticals, and other highly regulated construction environments.
To support care leavers we will offer:
1.
Apprenticeships as they become available at our sites – working directly for Wills Bros or partner companies as part of a shared commitment. The rate of pay will exceed the national minimum for apprenticeships which is due to increase in April. National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates – GOV.UK
Wills Bros are keen to ring fence this offer to care leavers and offer an interview to applicants that meet the apprenticeship criteria.
2. Work Experience Placements designed to provide insights into working for the company and the sector. These can be either officed based roles such as administration and design, or working on site with the engineering staff.
3. Employability Support which could include remote on line workshops, mock interviews and an understanding of recruitment processes in the sector.
