Virtual Memory Box offers a safe, accessible online tool which has been developed with young people in care and the adults in their lives, so they can store key moments and memories all in one secure place. Carers, social workers, and young people can add photos, videos, audio and documents to help them capture and understand their life story and their identity. This resource is available to care experienced young people who live in the local authority areas that are piloting this service. Virtual Memory Box are also a new business that is growing and has an ambition to employ up to 50% of its workforce from the care experienced community. To start this journey the company will offer paid work experience to young people in the Newcastle area who are interested in finding out more about working in a digital company with very strong social values working closely with local authorities and other partners in this area of work.
The paid work experience provided can be flexible to meet the needs of the young person and could be great for an individual seeking their first employment opportunity or someone needing to gain experience as part of their study programme. Topic areas for the work experience will include, business administration, marketing, account management and social media.
The work experience will be paid at National Rate and will be over a period of time agree by Virtual memory box and the young person. Payment methods can vary depending on the candidates needs. Candidates between the age of 16-25 will be considered.
During office days lunch will be provided and travel costs covered.
