Our Offer for Care Leavers
We are committed to supporting young people with care experience by providing the following opportunities:
1. Access – Discounted Access to Shows: Care Leavers can access discounted tickets for events at The Met. Discount codes are available and no ID is required for booking. Just get in touch with our Box Office to access.
2. Participation – Free/Discounted Workshop Places: Care Leavers can join our arts workshops free or at a reduced cost, including opportunities for their children. To participate, contact our Engagement and Access Team at education@themet.org.uk.
3. Work Experience & Volunteering: Gain hands-on experience by working behind the scenes at The Met. We offer tailored work experience placements and volunteering opportunities to help you develop skills in event management, arts programming, and more. For details, email education@themet.org.uk.
Community and Arts Programs
The Met provides a range of creative programmes that encourage personal growth and skill development for a range of ages and experiences inlcuding:
• Holiday Activities and Food: Free arts workshops for children and young people in receipt of Free School Meals.
• Movers and Shakers: A movement workshop for children aged 1-5 and their grown-ups.
• Met Express: Our adults theatre company for anyone with a learning disability.
This is just a small snapshot of our broader offer which also includes other creative groups like Bury Youth Theatre and Metro Jazz for young people to develop talents in theatre and music.
