As a partner of the Care leaver Covenant we can provide care leavers opportunities to join our skills development and community project building programmes aimed at increasing a young persons employability skills.
The skills development programme begins with interpersonal skills such as confidence building, communication, raising aspirations and managing expectations, managing pressure or stress, forming positive relationships, creativity and problem solving skills. This is done through a variety of activities that include attending guest speakers sessions, outdoor activity days, creative and practical workshops. These skills lead up to the community project which revolves around practical skills such as budgeting, managing finances, marketing, admin, organisational skills, project management, leadership and teamwork.
