1. Training and Development:
o Support to complete the Care Certificate.
o Access to a wide range of e-Learning courses.
o Diverse face-to-face training options, including:
▪ ARC PBS Foundation Level
▪ Emergency First Aid at Work
▪ Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
▪ Additional specialised training, such as Moving and Handling, Huntington’s Disease, PEG Feeding, and Epilepsy, tailored to the specific service you work in.
2. Further Qualifications:
o Upon successful completion of the probation period (minimum of 3 months), candidates can enroll in the nationally recognized Diploma, Level 2 Adult Care Worker.
o You will receive regular supervision and an annual appraisal with a supervisor.
3. Mentorship:
o Upon a successful application, care leavers will be assigned a mentor.
o You will receive monthly meetings with a manager to support you during yourprobation period.

3. Application Review: Your application will be reviewed by our Admin Team and forwarded to a Service Manager for arranging an interview. If no vacancies are available, your application will be held until positions become available.
4. Values-Based Recruitment: Standwalk uses a values-based recruitment approach. We seek candidates who share and demonstrate our core values. The recruitment process includes behavioural interviewing techniques to evaluate how candidates have demonstrated our values in past experiences. Constructive feedback will be provided to help candidates understand their alignment with our values.
5. Legal Right to Work: Evidence of the applicant’s legal right to work in the UK must be checked and verified. Relevant documentation must be signed and filed in the applicant’s personal file. Employment offers cannot be made until this paperwork is satisfactorily verified.
6. Employment History: A full employment history must be provided. Any gaps should be discussed during the interview and satisfactorily explained. Notes of these discussions will be kept to ensure compliance with CQC standards.
7. Enhanced DBS Check: An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required. Applicants will need to complete an Enhanced Disclosure Application following a successful interview.
8. DBS Application and Payment: Successful candidates will complete an online Enhanced DBS application at our main offices. The cost of the application must be paid by the candidate at the time of application, and a receipt will be provided.
9. DBS Disclosure Discussion: Any disclosed information related to the DBS application will be fully discussed during the interview. Form ‘HR 18, DBS Risk Assessment’ will be completed and reviewed with the Chief Operating Officer.
