Ginger Nut Training is a national training provider with a strong focus on apprenticeships, work experience, and career development. For many years, we have worked with young people, including those with care experience, to provide meaningful opportunities that build skills, confidence, and independence. We combine practical, real-world learning with personalised support, partnering with a wide range of organisations, from local authorities to national employers, to create pathways into employment and long-term careers. Our approach is inclusive, learner-centred, and committed to recognising the strengths and potential of every individual.

For many years, we have worked alongside care-experienced young people, fundraising, building partnerships with like-minded organisations and delivering projects that create real impact. Our care-experienced apprentice recently supported National Care Leavers Month, helping to raise awareness and inspire others. That apprentice is now a finalist for a national Apprentice of the Year award, a testament to what can be achieved when lived experience is valued and supported.

Work Experience – The Ginger Nut Future Careers Programme

Internal work experience placements within our business help you:

• Build confidence in professional settings
• Develop communication and teamwork skills
• Gain insight into training delivery, community projects, and campaigns
• Strengthen your CV with real, hands-on experience

Over the course of a few days, we hope to build up the confidence of young care leavers while they learn and explore their own potential in a professional setting. There will also be the opportunity to have a sit down with one of our Ginger Nut tutors, where they can get some tailored and in-depth guidance about their next steps, along with lots of useful career resources.

Scholarship

Ginger Nut Training periodically offer an internal one year scholarship scheme within their business paid at the living wage. These scholarships often progress on to an apprenticeship with the business and give exposure to;

• Project coordination

• Event planning and facilitation
• Marketing and communications
• Supporting national campaigns

Apprenticeships (Guaranteed interview for Care-Experienced Applicants) for internal Ginger Nut Training Positions

As part of our commitment to care-experienced young people, we guarantee an interview for apprenticeship roles to applicants with care lived experience who meet the essential criteria.

Apprenticeships – Our Employers

Are you interested in an apprenticeship with one of our employers? We act as a training provider and train you through your course. If you want support in getting an apprenticeship and are care experienced we offer lots of additional help please reach out to us and whilst apprenticeships are employer lead and decisions come down to the client where the apprenticeship takes place and not the provider we will do the best we can to help you find an apprenticeship.
