Inspira specialises in providing careers information, advice and guidance and personal development support to young people and adults throughout Cumbria. We do this through a number of contracts that we deliver:
The National Careers Service
Offers a range of tailored support services to unemployed young people to help them navigate their career journey and secure meaningful employment opportunities. These services include:
• Careers Guidance: Professional careers advisers provide personalised guidance and support to unemployed young people, helping them explore career options, identify their skills and strengths, and set achievable goals.
• Skills Assessment and Development: Work with one of our friendly careers advisers to identify existing skills and areas for development. We will talk about the support and training programmes that are available to enhance skills and increase employability.
• Job Search Assistance: Advisers will assist young people in developing effective job search strategies, including CV writing, interview preparation, and accessing job vacancies both locally and nationally.
• Information on Training and Education: The National Careers Service provides information on training courses, apprenticeships, further education opportunities, and funding options available to unemployed young people to help them gain new qualifications and improve their prospects.
• Career Planning and Progression: Advisers will work with young people to create personalised career action plans, offering ongoing support to help them progress in their chosen career path and achieve their long-term goals.
• Specialist Support: The service also offers specialist support for specific groups of unemployed young people, such as those with disabilities, care leavers, or ex-offenders, to address their unique needs and barriers to employment.
Brighter Futures
Inspira is committed to supporting care-experienced individuals through our participation in the Care Leaver Covenant Scheme. As part of this commitment, we offer a range of tailored services and resources to empower care leavers on their journey towards independence and success. Through our Brighter Futures programme, we provide personalised support and guidance to help care leavers transition into sustainable employment and build fulfilling futures. Our dedicated team works closely with care leavers to identify their goals, develop essential skills, and access opportunities for training, education, and employment. We also offer mentorship, coaching, and advocacy to ensure that care leavers receive the support they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond. By partnering with local authorities, employers, and community organisations, we aim to create a supportive network that enables care leavers to overcome barriers, unlock their potential, and achieve their aspirations.
