You’ll join small, caring classes with tutors who genuinely want you to succeed. You’ll gain real qualifications, essential work skills, and confidence to move into employment, further training, or your own business.
About RENU Training Academy
RENU Training Academy began in 2016 under the leadership of Gail Smallman, with an initial focus on supporting young people in the care sector in hair and beauty. Since then, we have grown to deliver:
- Levels 1, 2 and 3 Hairdressing regulated via VTCT Skills (renu-training.co.uk)
- Levels 1 and 2 Beauty Therapy regulated via VTCT Skills (renu-training.co.uk)
- Construction, Vehicle Maintenance and Health & Safety qualifications regulated via NOCN (renu-training.co.uk)
- Support to gain the CSCS card for working in the construction environment
- Alternative provision in schools for young people who have difficulty engaging in full-time, mainstream education (renu-training.co.uk)
We serve across Shropshire and Telford, and many of our programmes run in small classes (maximum six students in some provision) to allow for tailored support. (renu-training.co.uk)
Programme Highlights
Here’s what our vocational courses can offer you:
Hair & Beauty (VTCT Skills-regulated)
Learn real salon skills in a supportive, small-group, realistic working environment. You can work towards:
- Level 1 or 2 Hair or Beauty – covering all aspects of hairdressing, manicures, waxing, client care, and more
- Level 3 Hairdressing – advanced techniques and preparation for employment or self-employment
Construction (NOCN-regulated – Entry Level 3)
A practical, hands-on course introducing core construction trades such as:
- Painting & Decorating
- Bricklaying
- Carpentry and Joinery
Plus core modules in health & safety and preparing for employment.
Vehicle Maintenance (NOCN-regulated – Entry Level 3)
Get started with motor vehicle basics, including:
- Engine mechanics
- General repair techniques
- Workshop safety and preparation for working in automotive settings
Tailored Support & Wellbeing
All learners benefit from:
- Functional skills (Maths and English where needed)
- Employability training (CV writing, interview skills)
- Ongoing support, interventions, and a caring staff team
- Work experience opportunities to gain valuable insight into your chosen career
Small Learning Groups
Most classes are capped at just 6 learners, so you’ll get personal attention, build strong relationships with tutors, and feel genuinely supported.
