KCOM is a phone and broadband provider based in Hull, East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire with roots stretching back nearly 120 years in the local area. Its foundations date back to 1904 when Hull’s local authority established its own telephone network and is the reason why Hull today remains the only city in the UK where BT does not operate. It’s also the reason why our region has unique cream coloured phone boxes! KCOM is committed to supporting the communities it serves by helping local groups and charities, promoting digital inclusion and creating opportunities for young people through a variety of initiatives. As a signatory of the Care Leaver Covenant, KCOM aims to help young people learn new skills, discover new opportunities and ultimately fulfill their potential.
As a business we’re able to offer help with CV writing and mock job interviews.
We can host industry visits to provide a better understanding of KCOM, what we do and all the different opportunities available with our business.
We also run various engineering apprenticeship schemes for young people looking to learn a trade in the telecoms industry.
KCOM also offers full fibre broadband package called Flex to any Care Leavers who are supported by Children’s Support, as well as people in receipt of certain benefits (as listed on our website here). This is a discount package of 30Mbs, with unlimited data and free connection for £14.99 per month. New and existing customers can apply for this package online.
