Start your career with Harker
Harker is on a mission to solve homelessness with data through an AI-enabled platform that empowers homelessness charities to operate more effectively.
We are a values-led organisation committed to building an inclusive, supportive workplace where everyone can thrive. As a small and growing start-up team, we emphasise collaboration, openness and ensuring every team member feels heard and valued.
We know starting your career can feel daunting, especially for care experienced young people. That’s why we’ve designed our recruitment process and working environment to be supportive, flexible and accessible.
Many of our roles offer flexible or remote working options, including hybrid working and flexible hours. We also offer work experience and short-term placements to help you build confidence, develop skills and gain insight into working in a digital organisation.
Whether you join us for a placement or a permanent role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team where your ideas are valued and you are supported from day one.
An inclusive and supportive recruitment process
Our recruitment process is open and designed to remove barriers. We are committed to:
- Clear, jargon-free job descriptions
- Transparent salary and role expectations
- A named contact and regular communication
- Flexible application options (including video or phone)
- Constructive feedback for all candidates
We are proud to be a Disability Confident Leader organisation and actively design our recruitment and workplace practices to be inclusive for disabled people.
We recognise that care experienced young people may not always have had the same opportunities to build traditional CVs. We welcome applications based on potential, motivation and willingness to learn, and we will support you in demonstrating your strengths.
Support and development
We provide a structured but flexible onboarding experience, including an introduction to the team, training on tools and systems, and opportunities to learn from colleagues.
You’ll receive ongoing support from a dedicated line manager, regular check-ins, and a team culture where asking for help is encouraged. We also offer opportunities to develop your skills, contribute to real projects, and grow as the organisation evolves.
Our commitment to care leavers
Harker is committed to:
- Providing a fair and supportive recruitment process
- Offering reasonable adjustments at every stage
- Taking time to understand individual circumstances
- Creating a safe and respectful environment
We understand that everyone’s journey is different, and we are here to support you as you take your next step.
