Our offer to Care Leavers
Able is a London-based digital platform that connects freelancers directly with businesses offering flexible, paid work opportunities. Able is committing to widening access to freelance and project-based work for care experienced adults aged 18 and over.
We recognise that traditional employment routes are not the right fit for everyone. Flexible work can provide income, independence and the opportunity to build experience across different organisations while maintaining control over your schedule.
Who Able Is
Able operates as a freelance skills/worker matching platform. It brings together individuals who want to offer their skills and businesses looking for short-term, flexible or project-based support.
Predominantly offering opportunities in Hospitality and events, though expanding into other sectors this year. You can add skills for any sector and be found for work.
Able is not an employer and does not guarantee job placements. Instead, it provides a platform AI matchesfreelancers to businesses searching for skilled talent; they agree work between themselves. The aim is to create access to opportunities that might otherwise feel out of reach.
How It Works
You create a free professional profile outlining your skills, experience and availability. Your profile includes your skills, availability and verified right to work, making you instantly visible to businesses looking for the right person. Businesses search and get matched to freelancers that fit their requirements. You can express interest in work that suits you, or respond to direct approaches from businesses.
If selected, you agree the scope and terms of the work directly with the organisation. You decide which opportunities to accept and manage your own availability. This gives you flexibility while allowing you to build experience and earn income.

Current Operating Footprint
The Able platform is currently active in London, connecting workers and employers across the city with inclusive opportunities.
Able is focused on hospitality and events, but encourages you to add all your skills so you can be found for work, as Able grows.
Able is expanding, with plans to extend its reach into wider UK regions and beyond.
You can create a profile from anywhere, but most current opportunities are London-based.
Who This Offer Is For
This offer is open to care leavers aged 18 and over who are interested in flexible, freelance or project-based work. It may suit those who want to build paid experience, explore different sectors, increase income alongside study or other commitments, or develop confidence before moving into long-term employment.
While you do not need extensive experience to join, you will need to present yourself professionally and take responsibility for managing your freelance commitments.
What You Can Expect
Free access to a digital freelance platform. Direct connection with businesses seeking flexible support. Opportunities to build experience across different organisations and sectors. The ability to choose assignments that fit around your availability.
Freelance work can be a stepping stone into longer-term employment or a flexible way to gain practical experience and strengthen your CV.
