Arcus in the Community
Through our Arcus in the Community initiative, we will assist care leavers by delivering redecoration projects to those who are in need of e.g. painting and decorating, carpentry, fitting blinds etc. This support will be available to young people who are moving into independent living.
Employment Opportunities
We have a wide range of employment opportunities that young people can access.
Care leavers can regularly check Arcus Careers website for all our current vacancies: https://careers.arcusfm.com/
Arcus FM will provide additional support to applicants. For example, if you see a role you are potentially interested in applying for, but you don’t hold a CV, we can provide guidance on how to produce a CV. If you have any questions about any of our vacancies, we can talk you through each role to help you understand it in more detail, and we can guide you through Arcus FM’s job application process. To access any of this support please email Recruitment@ArcusFM.com.
Once you are ready to submit an application to any of our jobs, please be sure to select ‘Care Leaver’ from the drop-down option.
If you are successful and join us as a colleague, we will allocate a buddy / mentor for you to work with. They will support you every step of the way and guide you through your first few weeks / months with us. We offer comprehensive training to every new starter. At Arcus FM you will always have a colleague to call on if you have any questions or concerns.
Work Experience
We will offer work experience opportunities –
Arcus FM’s work experience opportunities are varied to suit the career you are potentially interested in pursuing. For example, you could work alongside our field-based Refrigeration Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers or Maintenance Service Technicians. We also offer work experience opportunities in our office-based roles for example in our Training, Finance, Helpdesk etc. departments.
During your work experience at Arcus, you will work alongside your mentor who will show and demonstrate tasks to you, before giving you the opportunity to try out certain tasks and activities yourself. We want you to be able to ‘learn by doing’ so we will get you actively involved in carrying out as many tasks yourself where practical and /or safe to do so.
Our work experience opportunities are usually offered at two days a week for a period of approximately six weeks, but we will try to tailor the duration and pattern to suit your needs and your career aspirations. Arcus will pay you £20.00 (twenty pounds) per work experience day, as a contribution towards your travel / lunch expenses.
Where an appropriate vacancy arises in Arcus, we hope that your work experience with us will stand you in good stead for being able to successfully apply.
