A national helpline providing information and advice to children in care, care leavers and adults supporting them.
Care experienced young people up to age 27 can get in touch if they have any questions about their rights and entitlements (be it financial support, housing, education etc.) or if they just need someone to talk to about how they’re feeling.
As well as providing short-term direct support, we signpost young people to the most relevant local service or agency for further support. The advice line is open from 10am-5pm, Monday-Friday and can be contacted free on 0800 023 2033 or by emailing advice@becomecharity.org.uk.
Our Propel website is a great resource for those considering further and higher education; it contains information about the support that’s available to care leavers at UK colleges and universities throughout the UK, plus advice on funding, applications and inspiring stories from other care-experienced students.
At Become, we have a specialised education advisor who provides 1:1 support to care experienced young people supporting around education queries. To request support, call our Care Advice Line on 0800 023 2033 or email propel@becomecharity.org.uk.
