About ISS

ISS is a global leader in workplace and integrated facility services, employing more than 30,000 people across the UK and Ireland. We provide cleaning, maintenance, catering, and other essential services to hospitals, schools, government offices, and banks.

Our goal is to create workplaces where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We are committed to supporting care leavers with real opportunities to build their careers and a futures with us.

What We’re Offering to Care Leavers

We are proud to offer care leavers a dedicated and supportive route into employment at ISS.

Jobs and Career Opportunities

We will advertise 100 percent of our entry-level roles on the Care Leaver Covenant’s Connects job board. This ensures care leavers can easily find and apply for available roles.

Tailored Support

Our Resourcing and Employability teams will support care leavers throughout the hiring process. We will deliver a full induction aligned with the ISS way of working, maintain clear communication, and encourage participation in employee resource groups focused on inclusion and belonging.

We will also provide access to career-building tools including apprenticeship pathways and development opportunities.

You will be welcomed into a supportive environment where your individual needs and goals are recognised.

For example, Maria joined ISS in a front of house / reception role in 2021.  After one year Maria started an apprenticeship in Business Development and now works in our London Head Office in the commercial team working on large bids for the company.   Her journey shows that given the right opportunity anyone can develop and progress in the organisation.

Inclusive Workplace

We want all colleagues to feel welcome and supported, whatever their background. At ISS, you’ll have the opportunity to join your colleagues on Employee Resource Groups covering topics such as age, race, gender, disability, and the military community.

Career Progression

At ISS, you will have access to training and development opportunities to grow your career. For example, ISS offers apprenticeship routes for all employees. Our roles include work in engineering, catering, cleaning, security, health and safety, and people management.
