Full Details

Brightwayz is a social enterprise with a mission to promote safe, active and sustainable travel.  We work in partnership with local authorities, businesses, colleges and community organisations on a range of projects to support and deliver this mission and provide related products.

To support Care Leavers in our local area, Brightwayz would like to pilot a Cycle Freedom Initiative which will start by helping a small number of care leavers find a bike that they can use for work or leisure.  We will provide helmets and locks, deliver a session on bike maintenance and donate other helpful items such as reflectors, repair kits and cycle maps.  Following that and whenever needed, participants will be encouraged to come along to any of our regular free cycle service sessions held in Kettering town centre for anyone needing  basic cycle checks, advice or guidance.

If this pilot is successful it is our intention to increase the numbers of care leavers we can support and start to look at volunteering opportunities within Brightwayz.
