PGL is the UK’s leading outdoor education provider, delivering inspirational learning through adventure. They specialise in educational activity courses, school trips, French language courses, children’s activity holidays, summer camps and ski trips, with centres in the UK and France.
PGL has a small team of core staff and each season, February to November, recruits some 3,000 staff to service its activity centres.
PGL welcomes applications for care leavers and will provide:
- Open days for care leavers to visit an activity centre
- Work shadowing and work tasters
- Fast track feedback, advice and assistance on expressions of interest
- Wrap-around support

Activity Instructor Group Leaders
If working in the outdoors with children is the adventure you’ve been dreaming of, this job is for you. You’ll be leading activities, organising entertainment, and making sure your group of children has the time of their lives.
Catering Assistants
You’ll assist the Chefs in preparing balanced, wholesome meals that fuel our guests and staff for their day of activities. This job includes assisting with food preparation, serving from our canteen bays and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean.
Housekeeping Assistants
Our Housekeeping team is a great place to get you started in hospitality. While guests are out on adventures, our Housekeeping Assistants deliver a first-class service to keep the high standards of presentation and appearance around the centre. You’ll prepare guest rooms for new arrivals and ensuring that laundry is clean.
Retail Assistants
All PGL centres have a gift and tuck shop where guests can buy PGL related goodies as well as refreshments, souvenirs and confectionery. Some of our larger centres also have onsite bars which are open in the evening for PGL’s adult guests and staff – you’ll work evening shifts in the bar.
