As a football club and foundation we work across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire supporting people in a range of different ways. We have five core areas that we support which are:

- Community Engagement and Inclusion
We believe that by using the power of the club, we can help people to enhance their lives and the communities in which they live through a range of interventions. We are an award winning charity, recognised both locally and nationally for the impact we have here in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. In 2021 we were awarded EFL Community Club of the Year and in 2024 we were awarded EFL League 1 Project of the Year for our Community Cupboard and Lounge. We support people from many walks of life and enable to them realise their own potential and achieve their own personal goals. In 2023/24 season, we supported 5,000 people with meaningful impact and made a considerable difference to their lives.
To support care leavers we can of a range of support from advice and guidance on how to find accommodation and manage a budget through to access to education programmes for sports coaching in partnership with Stoke College. We also have job opportunities at the football club in hospitality and stewarding and subject to meeting the required criteria we will guarantee all care leavers a job interview and provide feedback. We can also offer volunteering opportunities within the foundation that can help career progression.
Tickets to Games
Also for care leavers who are keen to experience matchdays we can offer tickets to games.
Community Support Groups
We host a community cupboard and lounge on a Friday morning at the club, which provided an appropriate referral is in place, a care leaver can access discounted food, essential items and gain advice on mental health, benefits, housing and employability sessions. This happens every Friday 9am – 12pm, Vale Park, ST6 1AW.
Football and Education Programme
An opportunity for 16-19 year olds to study full time with Stoke-on-Trent College in partnerships with Port Vale FC Foundation. Train and learn full time and gain a BTEC, work experience, life skills and exposure to a range of different roles available within a football club. We are recruiting now for our next September intake, any care leavers would be guaranteed an interview for the course.
