Look no further than the Journey Of Becoming Successful (JOBS) Project, a collaboration between Amazon and Barnardo’s.

If you’re between 18 and 29 and feeling a bit lost in the job market, the JOBS Project is here to give you the boost you need! We’re all about helping you build the skills and confidence to tackle whatever comes next.

Think of us as your personal career launchpad. Whether you’re dreaming of working at an Amazon Fulfilment Centre, want to explore an apprenticeship, or need help finding the perfect job, we provide the training and support to make your career goals a reality.

During the 10-week course you will:

  • Experience first-hand what it’s like to work at your local Amazon building
  • Build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through hands-on group activities
  • Receive personalised career coaching and regular progress checks

JOBS is all about making things happen, no matter where you are. With program dates year-round in locations across the UK, there’s always a chance to jump in and start your journey.

Springboard Fund

As a care leaver, you could be eligible to access to the Amazon Springboard Fund, designed to support your transition into work. Here’s a glimpse of what the fund can assist you with:

Digital and Data Solutions: Equip yourself with essential tools like laptops for learning and data packages for connectivity.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensuring your safety on the job is paramount, and the fund can help cover the costs of necessary protective gear.

Food and Care Packages: We understand the importance of holistic support, including basic necessities like food and care items.

Travel Assistance: Covering travel expenses within the initial six weeks of employment.

ID Documents: Assistance with obtaining essential identification documents to meet employment requirements.

Work-Related Clothing: Access support for clothing required for your role.

Theory or Driving Tests: Investing in your professional development, including support for theory, or driving tests.

Miscellaneous Needs: Addressing any other identified barriers hindering your journey to employment.

Paid Placement Opportunity

Paid Placement Opportunity

The Education and Community team at The Old Vic is reaching out to share that applications are currently open for Front Line Lambeth, offering paid placements in Front of House and hospitality teams for young people aged 16-30. Front Line Lambeth is partnering with other Lambeth based organisations to deliver this exciting project including: Black Cultural Archives, Garden Museum, Migration Museum, National Theatre, Southbank Centre, and Streatham Space Project.

Front Line Lambeth is perfect for young individuals who wish to explore a career in theatre or hospitality but aren’t certain of their next steps or are interested in learning transferable skills through front of house work. No experience is necessary, and Front Line Lambeth particularly welcomes applications from anyone not in education, employment, or training.

Participants will:

  • Take part in an induction workshop with Old Vic staff to prepare for work.
  • Attend an Old Vic production.
  • Complete four shifts shadowing various roles in the FOH teams or with one of the partner organisations. Shifts are paid at London Living Wage and are organised around participant’s schedules.
  • Participate in a next steps workshop focusing on their future goals, including CV writing and interview skills. This workshop will also include an opportunity to network with the other Lambeth-based organisations taking part in the scheme.

Are you looking for flexible employment in Events Security or Mobile Patrols?

 

  • Phoenix provides car parking, traffic management and event support to clients. As well as Security Guarding, CCTV monitoring and Mobile Patrols.
  • As part of their commitment to the Covenant, Phoenix Events Ltd is offering support and suitable work opportunities for care leavers.  They offer a variety of roles from event stewards and car parkers to SIA security and night porters.
