Springboard Destination Hospitality Programme with Barclays LifeSkills

Are you interested in starting a career in hospitality, leisure or tourism? Springboard, in partnership with Barclays LifeSkills, is offering you the opportunity to take part in a free training and work experience programme designed to help you build skills, gain qualifications and move towards employment.

The Destination Hospitality Programme is an intensive three-week course that combines practical training, mentoring, industry visits and employability support. After completing the course, you will also take part in a one-week work placement and receive a guaranteed interview with an employer.

Programme Dates: Monday 15 June – Friday 3 July 2026, followed by a one-week work placement.

During the programme, you will gain industry-recognised qualifications including:

  • Level 2 Food Safety Certification
  • Level 2 Health & Safety
  • Level 2 Customer Service Excellence
  • Highfields Level 2 in Underage Sales Prevention (Licensing)

You will also benefit from:

  • Practical hospitality and customer service training
  • Visits to leading hotels and hospitality venues
  • One-week work experience placement
  • Guaranteed interview on completion
  • Mock interviews and CV support
  • Career advice and employability guidance
  • Confidence building, teamwork and communication skills development
  • Ongoing support from Springboard for up to 18 months after the programme
  • Online learning modules and interactive workshops

Additional support includes:

  • Free lunch during training days
  • Travel support arranged through DWP or referral partners
  • Help with purchasing workwear
  • Dedicated mentoring and career support throughout the programme

The programme is open to young people aged 16 or over who are currently unemployed and interested in working within hospitality. There are 15 places available.
