Challenge-trg Skills

Challenge-trg Skills is the commercial and government-funded training arm of Challenge-trg Group.

We offer a range of programmes to support your career development. Some example programmes of study range from entry-level English, Maths and Digital Skills support to standalone programmes in Continuous Improvement and principles of Lean, Team Leading, Warehousing, Construction,  and Adult Care, as well as practical training in Forklift Truck Operations.

All our courses on offer can help you develop within your current role, or if currently out of work, to gain extra skills before you enter a new role.

Challenge-trg Skills has access to a wide range of government funding, and in many cases, courses can be offered free of charge.

 

The Offer – Employability Support and Careers team

Challenge-trg Skills provides high quality Careers, Education, Information Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) through our team of qualified Careers Advisers.  Challenge-trg Skills is a subcontractor that deliver the National Careers Service in Birmingham and London.

The National Careers Service is available free to every adult aged 19+ or 18 if they are not in education, employment or training or claiming benefits in England. It provides information, careers, and skills advice to help them on their learning and career journey.

We offer FREE opportunities for skills, personal development, and support with accessing training courses and job opportunities. Our career advisers provide information, advice and guidance to support and tailor sessions to each individual’s needs through digital technology, telephone, and face-to-face meetings. We help individuals identify and overcome any barriers they face to give them the chance to reach their full potential and find the career for them.

The National Careers Service supports individuals to access accurate labour market information, learning and work opportunities, with professional advice to help you make the right choices. We can help them look for new opportunities or progress in their current field of work.

Our qualified career advisers can help with:

  • Skills analysis and career planning
  • Understanding the local job market
  • Access to upskilling and training opportunities.
  • Employer-led workshops
  • Updating and tailoring your CV
  • Vacancy bulletins and newsletters
  • Interview support

Challenge-trg Skills also delivers a wide range of training courses that are directly linked to employment opportunities and guaranteed interviews. Our expert team of trainers and progression mentors will support your job application journey and provide the training and support you require to complete application processes and interviews.

The training available varies by region but these are some of the current courses available:

  • Fully funded FLT licenses and guaranteed job interviews in Birmingham
  • Personal Development Employment with guaranteed interviews in Mansfield, Derby, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Hull, Nottingham, Doncaster, Stafford, Milton Keynes and Northampton
  • Level 3 Care qualifications across the UK
  • English and Maths courses across the UK

Pre-employment eligibility criteria

 

Eligibility for Funding:

  • Aged 19+ on 31st August 2023
  • Must have lived in the UK/EEA/EU for the last 3 years (there are some exemptions which will be assessed for eligibility on a case-by-case basis against ESFA/WMCA funding rules by our compliance team)
  • Must be either a:
  • UK/EEA/EU citizen
  • Been granted permission by UK government to live in the UK for purposes other than purely educational/study.

Careers Team Eligibility

Candidates must satisfy one of the below criteria:

  1. 19+
  2. Adults aged 50 years or over who are unemployed or at demonstratable risk of unemployment
  3. Adults who have been unemployed for more than 12 months
  4. Adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities
  5. Low-skilled adults with a level 2 qualification
  6. Single parents with at least one dependent child living in the same household
