A Career Opportunity Designed for You

At The Lodge Dog Daycare, we know that transitioning from care to independence isn’t always easy. That’s why we’re excited to offer a unique opportunity for care leavers who love dogs and nature. Owned by TV canine expert Leon Towers and Dean Bailey, our centre offers a relaxed, supportive environment where you can learn, grow, and thrive while caring for up to 20 dogs daily in a beautiful woodland setting.

Our Unique Approach

Step into a world where your love of dogs and nature becomes your work. We provide hands-on training to help you care for the dogs, feeding, cleaning, and giving them lots of cuddles and attention – while working in a supportive environment that understands neurodiversity, including ADHD and Autism.

Join Our Team – Caregiver & Trainee Dog Handler

  • Permanent placement with up to two spots available for care leavers
  • Work in a safe, secure outdoor and indoor environment with a relaxed schedule
  • Learn to care for dogs, including feeding, cleaning, and supervision
  • Receive support and mentoring tailored to your needs
  • Flexible breaks including time outdoors
  • Opportunity to develop into a qualified dog behaviourist

What You’ll Do:

You’ll help care for up to 20 dogs a day, making sure they’re happy, safe, and well-looked after. Your duties will include filling water bowls, cleaning up, and spending quality time playing and bonding with the dogs. The job gives you the chance to connect deeply with animals, offering a unique form of support and comfort that can also help your own wellbeing.

Skills You’ll Develop & What They Could Mean for You:

  • Responsibility & Organisation: Managing care for multiple dogs helps build focus and reliability, skills you can use in many parts of life.
  • Empathy & Patience: Caring for dogs with different personalities, including those with special needs, teaches understanding and kindness.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Working closely with Leon, Dean, and others, you’ll learn how to communicate clearly and collaborate.
  • Resilience & Confidence: Overcoming daily challenges and building bonds with dogs can boost your self-esteem and emotional strength.

  • Mentorship and support from Leon and Dean, who have lived experience of the care system and understand the challenges you face
