How we support access and inclusion

We recognise that beginning a career in Children’s Services can be challenging. Polaris Community goes beyond traditional entry routes by:

  • Offering a guaranteed interview for any young person with care experience who meets the minimum criteria applying for an apprenticeship position. Those applicants will also be provided with interview questions in advance of an interview, and be provided with interview feedback.
  • Work experience placements, subject to availability and predominantly in our Central Services teams.
  • Mock interviews available at the end of work experience placements.
  • Offering bespoke employability coaching and support for care leavers and those with lived experience of care.
  • Providing clear pathways to training and employment, matched to individual needs and aspirations.
  • Encouraging applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
