Mersey Care Foundation NHS Trust has more than 11,000 people working together to provide community and mental health services to a population of 1.5 million, across Merseyside and parts of Lancashire and Cheshire. To support care leavers the Trust is working collaboratively with the Liverpool Region Local Authorities their care leaving teams and virtual schools to deliver a five day Healthcare Academy Programme which showcases employment opportunities in the Trust and the wider sector. This programme enables care leavers to understand the range of clinical and non clinal roles that are available and get involved in simulated activities to inform next steps andprogression to apprenticeship and job application.
