We are proud to be signatories of the Care Leaver Covenant and have created an innovative pathway for Care Leavers to enter employment in the Health and Social Care sector. We recognise that Care Leavers often have high levels of life experience and resilience. Being care experienced themselves, they can bring valuable insights and perspectives to our practice and our Care Teams.
Unique Personnel runs a programme focused on supporting care leavers living in 16+ Semi-Independent Supported accommodation in their transition to independence year (from 17 years of age up to their 18th birthday) and their exit from the Care System.
We offer the opportunity for suitable candidates to work within our Care Team on the above programme.
We offer between two weeks up to 3 months of paid work experience (£150 per week) as an introduction to the sector.
Work Placement Description
During your time at Unique Personnel, you will gain experience in the following;
- Working in the main offices supporting with Admin staffs
- Engaging with service users and care workers via telephone monitoring and sometimes face to face.
- Working in the field, sometimes in partnership with the field supervisor for client assessments.
- Stakeholder engagement with social workers, care coordinators, nurses, etc.
