The Offer As a signatory to the Care Leaver Covenant and the Care Leaver Friendly Employer Charter, Serco is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for young people (aged 16-25) transition from care to independence. Our offer is built around the RTD (Recruitment, Tracking, and Development) principles:

  • Recruitment Support: We offer a guaranteed interview and constructive feedback to any applicant who applies through our Pathways Programme and meets the minimum criteria for the role.
  • Tailored career pathways: Access to a wide range of entry level roles and apprenticeship programmes (Levels 2–7), giving care experienced young people the chance to earn while they learn and progress into long term careers across Serco’s public service contracts.
  • Mentoring and Development: Every care leaver joining Serco will be assigned a workplace “buddy” to provide informal support and guidance in navigating the organisation.
  • Empathetic Management: We approach professional challenges with compassion and empathy, recognising the potential for disruption in the personal lives of care leavers.
  • Social Value Commitments: We actively promote the Covenant within our supply chain to encourage our partners to offer similar support.
