Supporting people to forget what’s in the past and look forward to what lies ahead, we provide a practical approach to learning. Our programmes are delivered by local people, in accessible Hubs, where the work experience is linked to a community project. (Why sit in a classroom when your learning could help someone else?) Fostering community in this way has a powerful effect on people’s health, wellbeing, attitude and aspiration.
Starting in Teesside and slowly expanding our work northwards, we’re helping people to become confidently aware of their abilities, meaningfully employed and economically stable.
In 2023, we’re piloting an Independent Life Skills Programme, specifically for Care Experienced Young People (aged 16-24 years) living in Teesside.
Because being independent shouldn’t mean you have to figure stuff out alone.
Over eight weeks you can attend for free (public transport tickets supplied too) and benefit from:
- Hands-on learning in life skills
DIY, cooking, cleaning, budgeting.
- Multi-sector work experience opportunities
Gain accredited qualifications on the job; manufacturing, hospitality, landscaping, horticulture or administration.
- Information, Advice and Guidance
Mentoring and practical support to overcome whatever barriers you’re facing; debt, mental health, etc.
- Employability coaching
References, CV, interview prep, job searching.
